My dog is is limping? What should I do?

Last night i let my dog upstairs and i then when she got up there i saw she was holding her leg up she didn't seem to hurt her self on the way up or anything so i carried her back down stairs and put her in her room hoping it will take care of itself. So this morning i woke up and she seemed to still be holding her leg up and when i went to look at it she kinda pulls the leg away or walks away. Now im worried cause i don't want her to be majorly hurt and just to be clear she's holding her leg up while she walks on the other 3 legs. What she i do? Should i wait it out or should take her to the vet? Im reluctant to take her to the vet because i haven't socialized her yet and i don't want her or the vet techs to be stressed out. So what do I do?
